Weekly Events

There are a ton of different ways for you to get connected to AAIV. Here are some of the regular events that AAIV holds on a weekly basis. Also, be on the lookout for special and spontaneous events throughout the year. Hope to see you soon!

  • Focus – Every Friday night at 7pm the entire fellowship gathers as a large group to wrestle with issues faith, culture and what it means to be a student at Northwestern. Each large group focuses on topics that are relevant and challenging. Whether you are a committed Christian looking for fellowship or someone spiritually searching, Focus is a great place to start!   • Groups Investigating God (GIG) – Want to learn more about Christianity? Do you have questions or concerns about Jesus? Organized religion? GIGs are safe and relaxed places to explore your spiritual questions. For more info, email Chris Nho.
  • Small Group – Small groups are groups of 8-12 fellow students that meet to learn about God through His word and develop friendships with one another. For more info and to find a small group near you, email Esther Shin EstherShin2012@u.northwestern.edu or HC Yang hyo-yang@northwestern.edu
  • Discipleship – Discipleships are opportunities to grow deeper in your Christian walk with an older brother or sister as you meet regularly together, share your lives and challenge one another. For more info, email Lexi Kwok.
  • Manna – An intimate time of prayer and worship. Come to meet God, share your prayer requests with your brothers and sisters and be refreshed by Jesus. Every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening. For more info, email Keyoung Lee.
  • Chapter Prayer Meeting – Every Thursday evening the entire chapter comes together to pray for our fellowship and to ask God to continue to move our community forward. For more info, email Hace Oh.

Ministry Teams

AAIV is a student-led fellowship with many different ministries. Below are brief descriptions of our ministry teams and the students who lead them. Feel free to contact us with any thoughts or questions!

  • Worship Team leads the fellowship in song and prayer during large groups. During the year, there will be large groups on Friday nights where the entire fellowship comes together to worship and learn more about the word. Worship team is led by Grace Chong.
  • Prayer Team prays for and prays with the fellowship! We have weekly prayer meetings on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and also manage the fellowship blog. For more information, visit bit.ly/nuaaiv or aaivprays.posterous.com. Prayer Team is led by Keyoung Lee.
  • K-TEAM – ”K” stands for koinonia, the Greek word for community. As a ministry, we look after the welfare and growth of the fellowship through community-building events, activities, and discipleship. We are here to serve you! K-Team is led by Lexi Kwok.
  • Focus Team plans and executes our weekly large group meetings held every Friday evening at 7pm. They book speakers, plan fun events and help create large groups that challenge people to go deeper in their walk with Christ. Focus team is led by Sean Kim.
  • Outreach Team is a new ministry that is focusing on reaching out to and engaging our campus, our city and our world. Through Evangelism, Service and Social Justice we want to both proclaim and demonstrate the Good News of Jesus Christ. Outreach team is led by Chris Nho.
  • Small Group Leaders host and lead small groups throughout the week in dorms across campus. Each small group is made up of 8-12 students and consists of Bible studies, fellowship, prayer and outreach. Small Group Leaders are led by Esther Shin and HC Yang.
  • Core Team is responsible for crafting and maintaining the overall vision of the chapter. Each Core Team member is responsible for leading and overseeing a specific ministry of the fellowship. Together, the team seeks to be unified in their mission and follow the Holy Spirit’s leading. Core Team is led by Hace Oh.
