Why hellooo! My name is Esther and I am a senior who has moved around a lot and doesn’t quite know where to call home (so if you’re ever feeling homesick, I am here for you!). Serving in IV has hands-down been the most challenging, growing, rewarding, door-opening experience I have had in college and I definitely, definitely recommend it—but then, I’m biased. =) Someday, my goal is to be the best inner-city English teacher ever! P.S. I bleed purple!

 Anneke Hoekstra – Outreach

Hi everyone! I’m Anneke Hoekstra and I’m a junior from New York, New York. I’m studying secondary education (with a concentration in English) and French. On campus, besides being involved with InterVarsity, I’m a peer adviser, the president of Harmony in Spirit (Northwestern’s Christian a cappella group) and I work at the Writing Place as a tutor! I also love reading, running, and the Yankees.

I’m from Minneapolis… where ice was invented. You think it’s cold in Chicago? Well sonny, back in my day….
I’m a junior majoring in chemistry and psychology – they’re both my favorite.
In my spare time, I run, cook (I make a mean chili), practice handstands, and impersonate Justin Bieber.
